Day 1 and 2 - Astronomy

Solar System

Planets of the Solar System

Now we will talk about the planets and what makes each one different from each other

There are 4 inner planets and 4 outer planets, with 8 total planets. All the inner planets are rocky. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. Venus has a very thick, toxic atmosphere, which contains lots of greenhouse gases that make it the hottest planet in the solar system, while only being the second closest to the sun. Earth is the only planet known to support life. Mars once had flowing water on its surface and is also a viable option for off-Earth living. The outer planets are huge gas giants, with no solid surface. Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system. Saturn is known for its large rings. Made of mostly hydrogen and helium, it could float on water! Uranus is tilted on its side, as if it were lying on its side. It is also the smallest gas giant. Neptune is the farthest planet away from the sun.
